Operate radiological equipment; perform routine and general procedures to produce the radiographs of designated portions of the human body, exercising proper safety and radiation protection at all times. Adhere to strict regulations of radiation safety due to radiation hazards. Assume responsibility in designated areas of procedures as required.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
3.1 Perform and assist all staff in all radiological procedures in accordance with established procedures.
3.2 Assists technical quality of Radiographs/images and proper functioning of equipment in designated areas.
3.3 Handle the delegated areas of authority in performance of routine procedures with little or no supervision.
3.4 Handle for other related duties, such as PACS monitoring, maintain record of x-ray taken, stocks of supplies.
3.5 Performing unrelated duties which may be required during Emergencies.
3.6 Use of specific techniques, equipment, accessories to protect patient and hospital personnel from hazards of radiation.
3.7 Prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examination.
3.8 Assist Radiologist in fluoroscopic examination.
3.9 Place identifying marker on all films taken.
3.10 Assist in other duties as required by the Chief Technologist / Radiologists.
3.11 Provide and protect the confidentiality of any information, either medical or personal, acquired through professional contact with the patient.
3.12 Ensure the care and safety of all patients undergoing examination to see that it is done in the best and proper way.
3.13 Observe infection control standards laid down in policy documents, particularly in respect to sterile procedures.
3.14 Participate actively in the departmental Quality Assurance and In Service programs.
3.15 Provide patient and family education as per the needs.
3.16 Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
3.17 Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
3.18 Perform other related duties that are applicable to radiology department and as requested by the radiology head of department.
1. Education : Bachelor’s Degree

Experience
1. At least Three (3) years of experience in Radiology in an acute care Hospital.
Professional Licensing / Certification / Training
1. Certification : BLS certification
2. Licensing : Valid Saudi Council
Performing Imaging Procedures
X-ray Imaging: Conduct routine and specialized X-ray examinations, ensuring proper positioning of the patient and equipment for accurate images.
CT Scans (Computed Tomography): Operate CT scanners to obtain cross-sectional images of the body to assist in diagnosing diseases or injuries.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging): Conduct MRI scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort while capturing detailed images using magnetic fields and radio waves.
Fluoroscopy: Perform fluoroscopic imaging, which is used for real-time imaging of the body’s organs and tissues during procedures such as barium swallows or catheter insertions.
Mammography: In some cases, perform mammograms to detect breast cancer or other abnormalities in the breast tissue.
Bone Densitometry: Conduct bone density scans to assess conditions like osteoporosis.
Other Imaging Modalities: Depending on the facility and specialization, Radiology Technologists may also work with additional imaging techniques, including ultrasound or nuclear medicine.
Patient Preparation and Positioning
Prepare Patients: Ensure that patients understand the imaging procedure and provide instructions regarding clothing, positioning, or any contrast agents that may be needed.
Position Patients Properly: Position patients correctly to obtain the best possible images while minimizing discomfort. Proper positioning also ensures that the imaging results are of the highest quality.
Ensure Patient Comfort and Safety: Radiology Technologists ensure that patients are comfortable during the imaging procedure, addressing any concerns, and ensuring their safety.
