Are you passionate about exploring the complexities of human behaviour and mental processes We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Psychology to join our thriving Psychology department in an independent girls school in Ealing.

We have a strong focus on student wellbeing and provide a range of pastoral support services to ensure that every student feels valued and supported.

About the Psychology Department:

The Psychology department is a collaborative and passionate team with a shared commitment to fostering students understanding of human behaviour mental processes and wellbeing. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics from biological psychology and cognitive psychology to social psychology and developmental psychology. We encourage students to engage with research explore different perspectives on mental health and develop their own strategies for promoting wellbeing.

About the Role:

  • Teach Psychology across Key Stages 4 and 5 with the possibility of contributing to PSHE lessons.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics related to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Assess student progress set targets and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the departments curriculum development and resource creation ensuring that our Psychology curriculum remains relevant and engaging.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to promote student wellbeing and mental health awareness.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Psychology education and mental health support.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Psychology.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Psychology and a commitment to student wellbeing.
  • Has strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Psychology and relevant examination specifications.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
