Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer within the Oil & Gas and Shipyard sectors you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems onsite and for offshore/onshore projects. You will work closely with project teams contractors and clients to ensure all electrical systems comply with industry standards safety regulations and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design implement and manage electrical systems for Oil & Gas facilities and shipyard operations including power distribution lighting and communication systems.
  • Perform electrical load calculations power analysis and equipment sizing for industrial and marine environments.
  • Oversee installation testing and commissioning of electrical systems for oil rigs platforms ships and other related infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with international electrical standards (e.g. IEC NFPA and industryspecific codes) and local regulations.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide technical guidance during the execution of projects including troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues onsite.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (mechanical civil instrumentation) for seamless project integration.
  • Prepare electrical drawings schematics and technical reports ensuring accurate documentation and reporting for clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment including motors transformers generators switchboards and safety systems.
  • Participate in risk assessments and safety audits and ensure adherence to safety protocols during design installation and operational phases.
  • Provide technical support during project execution commissioning and postproject maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer specifically in the Oil & Gas or Shipyard industry.
  • UPDA Certification is mandatory.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues in challenging environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.


Requirements

  • Experience with hazardous area classifications and associated electrical installations.
  • Knowledge of electrical maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience in electrical safety systems including explosionproof and intrinsically safe designs.
  • Certification in marine electrical engineering or similar disciplines.
  • Experience with installation and commissioning of electrical systems for oil & gas facilities FPSOs LNG plants or vessels.
