Job Description

University of Newcastle is looking for a talented dedicated professional to support the University of Newcastle s activities in South Asia to be based in Delhi.

The role s primary focus will be to carry out promotional and market engagement activities supporting the university across South Asia. The position involves significant domestic and international stakeholder engagement activities. This may constitute participating in both inperson and online/techenabled information sessions meetings and student education fairs. Significant travel time is required.

As a Senior Recruitment Advisor you will implement engagement plans for South Asian markets. Specifically you will:

  • Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders within South Asia such as education agents prospective students and other key stakeholders.
  • Follow up with academic offer holders via conversion/acceptance of offer campaigns.
  • Build relationships with high schools and universities and support potential institutional partnerships.
  • Expand extend and enhance student experience and success initiatives (contributing to UON s value proposition ).

Core Responsibilities & Typical Activities

  • Ensure planning and budgeting of resources to improve market engagement.
  • Ongoing proactive review and evaluation of existing activities contributing to the delivery of an effective strategy. Evaluate new and approved strategies and approaches to meet market changes.
  • A strong understanding of stakeholder needs (students; alumni; academic and administrative units) and how this relates to student engagement and student success.
  • Lead the development of strong constructive networks and relationships with internal and external partners with strong lines of communication and engagement.
  • Provide outstanding standards of service and partnership with all relevant stakeholders including across UON faculty and divisions prospective and continuing international students alumni fellow staff members and external representatives.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of relevant standards legislation and political frameworks as it pertains to Australian international student regulations.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of reports and review collated statistics to inform planning and strategy as requested.


Requirements

Candidate Profile/Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor s degree with good to strong academic performance.
  • 5 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles related to education or international education.
  • A deep understanding of the onshore international student recruitment market with a proven track record of success preferably in the international higher education sector.
  • A thorough understanding of the educational value of a diverse and inclusive community.
  • Experience representing a known institution will be a plus.
  • Strong English fluency; proficient in business writing; able to discuss strategy and analysis with English speakers.
  • Study or experience abroad is strongly preferred. Study or experience in Australia will be an additional advantage.
  • Voluntary or other life experience that demonstrates creativity hard work persistence or drive to succeed.
  • Highly developed problemsolving skills the ability to work individually on tasks and collaboratively in a team environment and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed organisational skills including the ability to manage multiple complex tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of core systems for information and analytics and the ability to use analytical insights to make data driven decisions optimise recruitment strategies and monitor agent performance.
  • Highly developed problem solving and organisational skills and the ability to develop and implement plans and manage multiple complex tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to generate a strong sense of team spirit cooperation and collaboration within and across teams.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an interdisciplinary way of working
  • Proven capacity to develop and implement plans to achieve defined outcomes.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience working at a midlevel in administration or customer service.
