As a member of the Western Canada Infrastructure team you will be responsible for contributing to our project teams during all phases of the project lifespan including proposals design tender preparation and construction project phases.
- Completing geometric designs of highways municipal roads and intersection improvements including new/greenfield and rehabilitation projects in a rural or urban setting.
- Developing preliminary and detailed engineering deliverables including reports plans quantities cost estimates specifications and contract/tender documents.
- Coordinating project requirements with environmental geotechnical illumination land acquisition and other subconsultants as necessary;
- Assisting other transportation Engineers and Technologists including completing reviewing and checking completed work against established guidelines and standards;
- Interpreting and implementing standards from provincial and federal regulatory bodies;
- Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborating with design teams within other operating locations in Alberta
- Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes guidelines and regulations forming our Health Safety & Environmental management system.
- Participate in all assigned Health and Safety training programs.
- Travel to sites or project meetings including overnight stays may be necessary.
Qualifications :
- Completion of technical diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or an equivalent program.
- Registered with ASET or equivalent as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Technologist in Training (T.T.)
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive consulting experience completing transportation projects for Alberta Transportation & Economic Corridors or Municipal clients.
- Ability to read and understand survey plans and drawings.
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software would be considered a strong asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a hybrid work environment from an office site or home setting.
- Possess a valid drivers license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
- Provide a 3year drivers record.
