We are seeking a highly skilled Tax & Compliance Specialistto join a Dutchbased global group of companiesin the Oil & Gas sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring tax compliance optimising tax structures and providing strategic guidance on Dutch and international tax matters including corporate tax (CIT) VAT GST WHT PIT and transfer pricing. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders external advisors and tax authorities to navigate complex tax landscapes and support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance tax reporting and tax payments across the Dutch entities.
- Ensure accurate and timely corporate tax filings including preparation of financial statements and tax footnotes.
- Monitor and assist with CIT VAT and WHT payments to the Dutch Tax Administration.
- Assist in the annual corporate tax return filing for the top holding entity.
Strategic Tax Advisory & Planning
- Provide guidance on Dutch and international tax law including transfer pricing double tax treaties and IFRS tax implications.
- Assist with taxefficient structuring of corporate transactions and ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations.
- Review tax clauses in contracts (client contracts and subcontracts) and participate in negotiations.
- Conduct dividend planning including filing and payment of dividend withholding taxes.
Audit Risk Management & Compliance
- Assist and/or manage tax audits and investigations including postentry customs audits.
- Prepare tax audit updates and provisions for inclusion in quarterly compliance and litigation reports.
- Ensure compliance with SarbanesOxley (SOX) controls and internal financial reporting frameworks (IFRS/IAS 12).
- Support the finance team in tax risk management and implementation of best practices.
Stakeholder Management & Advisory
- Act as a key advisor to senior management on taxrelated matters.
- Liaise with external tax advisors auditors and Dutch tax authorities to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Provide technical support and research emerging Dutch tax regulations keeping stakeholders informed of key developments.
Key Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- University degree in Finance Tax Law or Accounting (ACCA ACA CTA or equivalent preferred).
- 24 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry or Big 4 tax advisory firms.
- Strong background in Dutch statutory accounting corporate tax law and audit processes.
Technical Expertise
- Solid knowledge of CIT VAT GST WHT PIT regimes.
- Expertise in international tax law transfer pricing and double tax treaties.
- Experience with IFRS and IAS 12 (Income Taxes).
- Familiarity with SarbanesOxley (SOX) compliance is a plus.
- GloBE rules knowledge is a plus.
Languages & Soft Skills
- Fluency in Dutch & English (spoken and written) essential for dealing with Dutch tax authorities.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex tax regulations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
