Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Music with a desire to share your love of music with young people We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Music to join our thriving department in a vibrant and diverse secondary school in Hounslow.

We provide a supportive and stimulating environment where students can explore different musical genres learn to play instruments sing in choirs and compose their own music. About the Music Department:

The Music department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared commitment to fostering students musicality and creativity. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of musical styles and traditions from classical to contemporary. We encourage students to develop their musical skills through instrumental lessons ensemble rehearsals and performances.

About the Role:

  • Teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching A Level Music depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources including practical activities listening exercises and composition workshops to bring Music to life for students.
  • Lead and direct school ensembles such as choirs bands and orchestras.
  • Organize and participate in school concerts and performances providing students with opportunities to showcase their musical talents.
  • Assess student progress set targets and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the departments curriculum development and resource creation ensuring that our Music curriculum remains relevant and inspiring.
  • Foster a love of Music in students encouraging them to explore different musical genres and develop their own musical voice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Music education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Music.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Music and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Music and relevant examination specifications.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
