DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES



Texas Education Agency requires the services of 1 QA Engineer Automated 2 hereafter referred to as Candidate(s) who meets the general qualifications of QA Engineer Automated 2 Quality Assurance (QA) and Testing and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Education Agency.

All work products resulting from the project shall be considered works made for hire and are the property of the Texas Education Agency and may include preselection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Texas Education Agency will pay no fees for interviews or discussions which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).

The Software QA Engineer performs advanced and/or supervisory computer systems analysis and team work administering the daily operations and activities of testing teams within the Quality Assurance (QA) section of ITSEDS (Information Technology Statewide Education Data System). Work involves planning and analyzing user requirements procedures and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems.

This position will work with the project development teams to provide the following Software Testing Services:

1) Analyze user requirements design documents and other documentation to develop detailed test cases

2) Create and execute automated functional and regression test cases report and document all issues test cases ran test results and testing summaries in detail

3) Perform manual testing and data validation

4) Perform SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data

5) Work with development team and customers to clearly understand the functionality under test to define and implement test case automation and clearly communicate to the team

6) Execute performance and accessibility testing

7) Experience in Selenium and TestNG using Java Language

The QA group supports and facilitates the implementation of all apps/projects in the Texas Education Agency.

II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:
Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity. Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Testing complex Web Applications 7 Required Testing all phases of Software Development Life Cycle 5 Required Database/SQL Language 3 Preferred Testing automation experience with Selenium and TesING 3 Preferred Experience with tools like WAPT Pro Jmeter or other performance testing tools 2 Preferred Previous experience with JIRA preferred 2 Preferred Previous experience with Zypher Scale preferred

III. TERMS OF SERVICE

Services are expected to start 04/16/2025 and are expected to complete by 08/31/2025. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 872 hours. This service may be amended renewed and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing.

IV. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION

Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Texas Education Agency. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.

The primary work location(s) will be at 100% Remote Work Location Within the United States. The working position is Telework. Any and all travel per diem parking and/or living expenses shall be at the Candidates and/or Vendors expense. Texas Education Agency will provide preapproved written authorization for travel for any services to be performed away from the primary work location(s). Preapproved travel expenses are limited to the rates and comply with the rules prescribed by the State of Texas for travel by its classified employees including any requirement for original receipts.

The Candidate(s) may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends evenings and holidays as requested. Payment for work over 40 hours will be at the hourly rate quoted and must be coordinated and preapproved through Texas Education Agency.
