The Senior Commercial Manager Growth Partnerships role is primarily responsible for unlocking the next phase of growth across the portfolio through identification prioritisation negotiation contracting and onboarding of new partnerships targeting ASX200 companies that address core member gaps in the current Retail offering. The role takes a categoryled approach to prioritising partnerships that will drive value to the business our members and the partner with consideration for complimentary value creation with the Qantas Business Rewards program and eCommerce platform (Qantas Marketplace).  Once a new partner is onboarded the role is responsible for ensuring a seamless transition to the relevant account management team.

In addition to business development the Senior Manager Growth Partnerships role is also responsible for leading or coordinating a number of strategic initiatives including refining the partner tier framework and approach to midtier partners to deliver a partnership driven  organisation  that is capable resourced and flexible to meet the challenges of the dynamic Retail sector.  This role is also responsible for people leadership mentoring and development of a team/squad of direct and indirect reports to enable long term successful partnerships and the delivery of sustainable value creation for the partner the customer/member and Qantas Loyalty. 

 

What youll bring to the role:  

  • 15 years experience in the management of large scale and complex Partnerships in Aviation Travel Retail or other significant household spend categories
  • Proven ability to develop novel scalable highimpact partnerships for shared value 
  • Strong external stakeholder management skills including Csuite executives with
  • passion for sales business development and partnerships management. 
  • Exceptional commercial acumen with welldeveloped strategic financial customer
  • commercial modelling and relationship management skills. 
  • Thorough understanding of customer loyalty fundamentals core drivers of loyalty value
  • creation and partnership execution within a loyalty programme context. 
  • Thorough understanding of partner & customer/member perspectives & ability to
  • leverage data/insight as part of partnership strategy development and performance
  • appraisal. 
  • Ability to strategically design and develop partnership frameworks including industry/sector appraisals competitor benchmarking pipeline development opportunity
  • sizing deal structures commercial constructs and success KPIs and measures. 
  • Revenue and gross margin management experience in a partnership context and ability
  • to manage financial targets budgets and forecasting. 
  • Significant business development negotiation and contracting experience with in depth
  • knowledge of all components of deal making partnership development and onboarding. 
  • Significant experience in developing key internal and external materials including
  • pitching and proposals business casing and strategic plan development. 
  • Ability to keep and stay abreast of broad industry and specific partner developments in
  • an incredibly dynamic competitive environment and translate these into meaningful
  • actionable insights and initiatives that ensures the Qantas Frequent Flyer program
  • enjoys a reputation as an industry leader and trusted partner. 
  • Exceptional people management experience with ability to lead motivate coach and
  • develop high performing teams.
