Job Description

Our Enterprise Technology & System Integration team brings together skills in intelligent automation data engineering software integration and cloud platforms to help our clients align their technology capabilities with their strategic and operational objectives. We also draw on KPMGs extensive national and global resources adopting a multidisciplinary approach to help unlock the full potential of existing and new technology investments.

Your Opportunity

As a member of our Enterprise Technology & System Integration division the Azure Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role by:

  • Contribute to the writing and maintenance of infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform across multiple cloud environments such as AWS Azure or GCP ensuring consistency and compliance with specified design patterns and infrastructure requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to gain insights and further knowledge in IaC practises steadily incorporating new learning into daily work to enhance the quality and resilience of cloud infrastructure.
  • Utilise experience in Bash Python or PowerShell to develop automation scripts that support system provisioning configuration management and other operational tasks.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure that scripts align with operational policies and are scalable maintainable and effectively reduce manual workload.
  • Support the building and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines actively participating in the integration and delivery process while aiming to optimise deployment workflows and introduce innovations.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of automated testing within the pipelines to improve software quality and enable continuous integration of code changes.
  • Engage actively in Agile development processes including planning sessions daily standups and retrospectives to deliver software that meets business requirements effectively and efficiently.
  • Embrace practises like testdriven development (TDD) and behaviourdriven development (BDD) to ensure that tests are an integral part of the development process and collaborate with peers to refine techniques and share best practises.

Your Experience and Skills

  • Background in designing developing and managing cloud infrastructure and applications on Microsoft Azure platform (other hyperscales including AWS or GCP is desirable).
  • Strong experience with using Infrastructure as a Code tools such as Terraform ARM and Bicep templates.
  • Ability to utilise Azure DevOps for CI/CD workflows including source code management build automation and release orchestration.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and networking best practices and compliance requirements is desirable.
  • Australian security clearance or ability to obtain one please note Australian citizenship is required to obtain this clearance.
