Job Description
Our Production team based in Slough are now looking for Operations Technician Apprentices to join us this summer. You might be a school leaver or someone who would like to retrain into another career. As part of our team you will have the opportunity to learn from our experts and rotate around our Production team picking up the skills and knowledge you need to play a crucial role in the manufacturing assembly testing overhauling and repairing of our dry gas seals. You will spend time in our Machine and Lapping workshops and be given a mini project to work on using Lean methodologies.
This role is based from our Slough site working Monday to Friday normal office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Operate and maintain lapping and CNC machines to produce precisionfinished components
- Masking/Grooving / Spin testing of Mating Rings
- Perform precise measurements using specialised tools and equipment eg Optical and mechanical inspection
- Interpret technical drawings and work instructions to meet product specifications
- Perform all necessary duties required to safely assemble and test dry gas seals
- Install and set up seals into appropriate test rigs
- Assist in preparing drawings for assembly/disassembly tools and fixtures
- Read instrumentation record data accurately
Learning & Development:
As part of this Level 2 Apprenticeship you will study with Newbury College working towards The Engineering Operative Apprenticeship standard which give you a Level 2 diploma in Engineering Operations. There maybe the opportunity to progress onto a higher level of Apprenticeship upon completion.
Qualifications :
- Ideally Math & English GCSE at Grade 4 or above if you dont have this qualification you can work towards English and Maths Functional Skills as part of your Apprenticeship
- Demonstrate technical and mechanical aptitude
- Enjoy working with your hands to build test or repair
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite e.g Outlook Word Powerpoint Excel
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to plan and meet deadlines
