Job Description

Fulltime Permanent September 2025 Start

Are you a passionate and insightful Teacher of Psychology with a desire to inspire students to explore the complexities of human behaviour and mental processes We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our successful Psychology department in a leading secondary school in Hounslow.

About the Psychology Department:

The Psychology department is a collaborative and passionate team with a shared commitment to fostering students interest in this fascinating subject. We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics from cognitive and developmental psychology to social psychology and psychological research methods.

About the Role:

  • Teach Psychology across Key Stages 4 and 5 with the possibility of contributing to PSHE lessons.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources including experiments discussions case studies and research projects to bring Psychology to life for students.
  • Assess student progress set targets and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the departments curriculum development and resource creation ensuring that our Psychology curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of Psychology in students encouraging them to explore different psychological perspectives and develop their understanding of human behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Psychology education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Psychology.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Psychology.
  • Has strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive learning environment.
