Experience Required: 2 to 5 years
Accountabilities:
- Installation and configuration installing and configuring network equipment (routers switches firewalls) and radio communications hardware (base stations antennas DAS) at designated sites.
- RF signal optimization performing site surveys adjusting antenna alignment and radio signal power levels to achieve desired coverage and quality.
- Network testing and troubleshooting conducting network performance tests identifying and resolving any connectivity issues or radio signal interference.
- Protocol configuration setting up network protocols (IP addressing routing protocols) and radio protocols (LMR and wideband).
- Documentation and reporting creating checklists and reports including system configuration test results and any identified issues.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of medium/complex network and radio deployment.
- Expertise in RF Engineering including radio transmission principles antenna design RF propagation and signal measurements.
- Excellent ability to use test equipment including multimeters oscilloscopes and a spectrum analyzer.
- Working knowledge of Test and commissioning processes.
- Skilled in handling electric electronic and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate complex technical information.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- System integration ensuring seamless integration between the network and radio systems including synchronization and interoperability.
- Radio Frequency/Telecommunications Qualifications/University Degree
- From 2 to 5 years of Railway System Engineering and Commissioning expertise
