Education Specialist full time days UM Upper Chesapeake Health Aberdeen
Exempt position
JOB SUMMARY: The Education Specialist coordinates and teaches in Hospital and Nursing orientation programs inservices continuing education courses and community programs. The Education Specialist plans for education programs based on the individual needs of team members and the goals of UM/UCH. Acts as a resource/consultant to the team members in meeting education needs and/or patient/family needs. The scope of patient care is primarily ages 18 and above. Education Specialists with documented competencies in the care of neonates through elderly will act as a resource person to the staff. Conducts and/or participates in projects through individual assignment committee/task force involvement and/or through conducting surveys/needs assessments.
Qualifications :
Education & Training: Registered Nurse with current RN licensure in the State of Maryland with a Baccalaureate degree (Nursing focused). A Masters Degree in Nursing or an M.S. in Education or Human Resources preferred. Certification in a specialty area desired. BCLS Instructor Certification required. ACLS NRP and/or PALS Instructor Certification is required within one year of hire.
