Energy Analysis and Drafting
- Assume responsibility for the technology characterization and modelling of one or several subsectors within relevant sectoral models. Work closely with other analysts that contribute to the analysis and modelling ensuring proper teamwork and cooperation.
- Lead quantitative analysis of topical energy technology and innovation issues for inclusion in IEA key publications. Provide intellectual input in developing thought leading analysis of future energy and technology trends.
- Coordinate the preparation of and draft individual chapters and reports.
- Stay abreast of relevant energy technology and policy developments in member and nonmember countries and with related academic work.
- Draft reports working papers prepare presentations and briefing notes for senior management.
Liaison and Outreach
- Collaborate with other Directorates in the Agency the OECD and other national and international organisations the private sector and research bodies in the analysis of the role of energy technology in Member and nonMember countries.
- Participate in preparations for meetings of IEA standing committees working parties and other groups as required; participate in relevant meetings of other international organisations; provide support for the development of reports analyses and information items for these meetings.
- Work collaboratively with other IEA divisions ensuring crossAgency research and analytical projects that require professional input
- Maintain contacts with members of national delegations other international organisations representatives of private sector and other institutions involved in energy market assessments.
- Promote the work of the IEA externally to a wide range of audiences through organising and participating in workshops making presentations and holding bilateral meetings
Qualifications :
Academic Background
- An advanced university degree(s) in relevant disciplines such as engineering mathematics or economics.
Professional Background
- At least three to seven years experience in applied economic and policy analysis preferably within an energy context.
- Excellent understanding of energy sector dynamics.
- Excellent quantitative background and experience in the construction and use of large scale energy models and datasets.
- Proven analytical abilities and excellent writing skills as demonstrated in past work products (analytical reports quantitative analysis operative models and/or published papers).
Tools
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office suite especially Excel Access and Power Query.
- Knowledge of Python R TIMES Matlab and/or Vensim is an asset.
Languages
- Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other with a commitment to reach a good working level.

Selection Process
- For retained candidates written tests/videorecorded interviews are foreseen towards the end of March and panel interviews are planned around mid April.
Contract Duration
- 24 month fixedterm appointment with the possibility of renewal to a maximum of 36 months.

- This position is graded PAL 5. Appointment will be based on the candidates level of experience and demonstrated ability to perform the functions at the expected level.
