Job Description

Fulltime Permanent September 2025 Start

Are you an inspiring and dedicated Teacher of Religious Education with a passion for exploring faith spirituality and ethical values within a Catholic context We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our supportive RE department in a highachieving Catholic school in Kensington.

About the School:

Our school is a welcoming and inclusive learning community where students are encouraged to develop their spiritual moral social and cultural understanding. We provide a nurturing and supportive environment where students can explore their own beliefs and values engage with the Catholic faith and develop their understanding of the role of religion in the world.

About the RE Department:

The RE department is a collaborative and reflective team with a shared commitment to fostering students spiritual growth ethical awareness and understanding of religious diversity. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that explores a range of religious traditions beliefs and practices with a particular focus on the Catholic faith.

About the Role:

  • Teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources including discussions debates guest speakers and visits to places of worship to bring RE to life for students.
  • Assess student progress set targets and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the departments curriculum development and resource creation ensuring that our RE curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster an appreciation of different religions and worldviews in students encouraging them to develop their own beliefs and values in a respectful and tolerant manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in RE education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Religious Education.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching RE and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for RE.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Is supportive of the schools Catholic ethos and values.
