Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic school in Shrewsbury. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mathematics a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and the ability to inspire students at KS3 KS4 and KS5 to achieve their full potential in mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging mathematics lessons to students at KS3 KS4 and KS5 focusing on developing both theoretical understanding and practical problemsolving skills.
  • Develop and implement a mathematics curriculum that meets national standards and stimulates a love for mathematics among students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of assessment methods providing constructive feedback that supports student development.
  • Create an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing development of the mathematics department.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians keeping them informed about student progress and supporting homeschool partnerships.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE QTS or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching mathematics at KS3 KS4 and KS5 level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach a wide range of mathematical concepts including algebra geometry statistics and calculus.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Passionate about teaching and making mathematics accessible and engaging for all students.
  • Creative in lesson planning and delivering challenging and stimulating content.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
