Sociology Teacher

(FullTime Permanent)
A thriving secondary school in Croydon is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join their successful Social Sciences/Humanities department. This is a fulltime permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to inspire students and foster their critical understanding of society. The school requires a dedicated Sociology Teacher.
Responsibilities:The Sociology Teacher will undertake:
- Plan prepare and deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (ALevel Sociology).
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student attainment.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking and discussion.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the department.
- Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Adhere to all school safeguarding policies.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Teacher: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven ability to teach Sociology at KS4 and KS5.
- Passion: Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for Sociology and student success.
- Skills: Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Teamwork: Be a collaborative team player.
- Development: Show a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
