Job Description

The appointee will join the Hand group within the Orthopaedic Team and will be expected to participate in all facets of the provision care for patients with hand and wrist pathology presenting to the hospital.   They will be expected to care for patients both in the clinic and operating theatre setting. There will be an expectation through the year that the successful candidate will progress towards independent practice but will be supported by the five consultants within the unit during this time.  The department will support preparation for the Diploma in Hand Surgery (British or European).

There will also be an expectation that the successful candidate will undertake some middle grade general orthopaedic on call but will not be formally on the rota.
