Roles and responsibilities

To efficiently organize and manage testing of routine and non-routine hydrocarbon samples(gas), water and wastewater samples received from various process units of the refinery, timely issuance of test reports and issue of COQs for the refinery products.
Chemical Analysis and Testing:
Conduct Laboratory Testing: Perform chemical analyses using a variety of techniques, such as chromatography (HPLC, GC), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, IR, NMR), mass spectrometry (MS), and titrations.
Quantify Chemical Components: Measure and quantify the presence of specific compounds in complex mixtures (e.g., drug formulations, food products, environmental samples).
Analyze Samples: Collect samples from production lines, laboratories, or environmental sites and analyze them for purity, contaminants, or other characteristics.
Validate Methods: Develop and validate new analytical methods to ensure accurate, reproducible, and efficient testing of substances.
. Data Interpretation and Reporting:
Analyze Results: Interpret experimental data and provide detailed reports on findings, including concentrations, impurities, or chemical structures.
Ensure Data Integrity: Ensure that data collected is accurate and valid, adhering to scientific standards and regulatory requirements.
Generate Reports: Create detailed technical reports and documentation for stakeholders, such as researchers, product development teams, or regulatory bodies.
Statistical Analysis: Use statistical methods to analyze and interpret results, ensuring data reliability and consistency.
Method Development and Optimization:
Develop New Analytical Methods: Design and optimize new analytical techniques or modify existing methods to improve the efficiency, accuracy, or sensitivity of chemical analysis.
Implement Advanced Techniques: Utilize state-of-the-art instrumentation and techniques to improve the detection, quantification, and characterization of compounds.
Ensure Standardization: Ensure analytical methods and protocols comply with regulatory standards, such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Desired candidate profile

Minimum experience of 5 years in Oil and Gas laboratory.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Computer literate and ability to work with different laboratory software applications (LIMS, RIS etc.) and SAP for materials and maintenance management
- Sound knowledge of applicable International Standards applicable in Refinery testing laboratory.
- Good knowledge of IMS requirements.

Educational Qualifications

- Minimum B.Sc. in Chemistry.
Quality Control and Assurance:
Monitor Quality: Conduct quality control tests to verify that chemical products or substances meet specified standards for purity, potency, and stability.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Follow regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA, or EPA) for analytical testing to ensure products meet the necessary health, safety, and environmental standards.
Maintain Quality Standards: Participate in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure the quality and accuracy of test results.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Collaborate with Researchers: Work with researchers, product developers, and manufacturing teams to ensure that new products or processes meet required specifications.
Support Product Development: Assist in the formulation and testing of new products, providing analytical insights that help guide product design and improvement.
Liaise with Regulatory Bodies: Provide analytical data and documentation to regulatory authorities during product approval or inspection processes.
