Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Mission:

Ensure the execution of the head office activities concerning pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up, test run, training, operation and handing over of the plant to the Client according to contractual requirements and project objectives in terms of safety, quality, budget and schedule.
The role:

Verify that the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up, training, and operation requirements are accounted for into engineering documents
Take part in project planning and scheduling. Prepare and keep up-to-date the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up, test run, training and operation execution plans (including the mobilization of personnel)
Supervise the preparation of the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up, training, operation and handing over procedures/manuals
Capability to support the vessel under the requirements of the national, international Laws (Classification society, IMO, Solas, ISPS code, MARPOL etc.) during Operation phase
Coordinate and supervise all engineering activities related to Hook-up;
Participate into preparation of multi-disciplinary Hook-up procedures;
Prepare marine spread specifications and follow up relevant bids;
Ensure through dedicated surveys, vessels suitability to perform safely and efficiently support activities for Hook-up campaign, in order to guarantee steady manpower and materials supply on site.
Planning and Preparation:
Develop Commissioning Plans: Create detailed commissioning plans that outline project requirements, timelines, resources, testing procedures, and safety protocols.
Coordinate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and expectations.
Define Scope and Responsibilities: Clearly define the scope of commissioning activities, ensuring all involved parties understand their roles and responsibilities.
Resource Management: Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, for commissioning activities.
. Commissioning Execution:
Oversee System Installation: Monitor the installation of equipment, systems, and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
Perform System Testing: Ensure that all systems are tested to verify their functionality, performance, and compliance with safety standards. This includes systems such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, control, and instrumentation.
Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Identify any issues or deficiencies during testing and coordinate corrective actions with contractors, engineers, and technicians to resolve them promptly.
Coordinate with Vendors and Suppliers: Work closely with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure that systems are installed and function as expected.


Desired candidate profile

Documentation and Reporting:
Create Commissioning Documentation: Ensure that all commissioning procedures, results, and compliance records are properly documented and stored for future reference.
Prepare Reports: Regularly report on commissioning progress to senior management, highlighting completed tasks, any delays, or issues encountered, and proposed solutions.
Final Documentation: Compile final commissioning documentation, including as-built drawings, operational manuals, test certificates, and maintenance schedules.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all commissioning activities adhere to quality assurance procedures and are conducted in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure Safety Compliance: Oversee the adherence to safety standards and regulations during the commissioning process, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks during commissioning and implement mitigation strategies to minimize accidents, delays, or cost overruns.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all systems and equipment meet the required regulatory, safety, and environmental standards before they are approved for operation.
Training and Handover:
Staff Training: Oversee the training of personnel on the correct operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems and equipment being commissioned.
Prepare for Handover: Ensure that all systems and equipment are fully operational and that all relevant documentation, including user manuals and maintenance instructions, are provided to the operations team.
Client Handover: Coordinate the handover process to the client or end-user, ensuring they have all the necessary information to operate and maintain the system effectively.
