Job Description
The Industrial Electrician inspects maintains repairs and installs mechanical electromechanical pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Repair maintain install replace troubleshoot and diagnose various machinery and mechanical equipment such as: Centrifugepumps conveyors hydraulic press dewatering press belts fans utilizing hand tools and testing instruments;
- Inspect completed repairs and recommend appropriate solution;
- Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures;
- Estimates time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects;
- Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management;
- Work from engineering drawings rough sketches manuals or verbal instruction and install equipment to diagram specifications;
- Provide performance feedback to workers to motivate or improve adherence to operating procedures or quality standards;
- Complete work orders as required and ensures appropriate followup communication;
- Disassemble machines and repair/replace/adjust parts accordingly;
- Clean and lubricate equipment parts and machinery;
- Maintain equipment in proper operating condition;
- May be required to perform machine operator duties on occasion;
- Assist coworkers with any questions or issues regarding task completion.
Qualifications :
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Valid 442A Electrician Licence and/or a Valid 309A Electrician Licence .
- Dual Tickets while not required are valued and holders will receive an additional premium.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an industrial electrician preferably in a heavy industrial environment such as water treatment chemical processing petrochemicals cement production or metal processing.
- Proficient at troubleshooting repairing maintaining and servicing all plant equipment in a timely manner.
- Experience with a variety of machinery vehicles material handling equipment hand and power tools.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable safety legislation.
- Strong problem solving planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in English (read write and speak).
- Must be deadline oriented reliable and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations
- Must have a valid drivers license with a safe driving record.
- Must Work well with others and possess good hand eye coordination.
- Must be comfortable rotating throughout the facility as required.
Work Environment:
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fastpaced environment Repetitive tasks physically demanding and attention to detail.
- Work Site Environment: Can get dusty recycling odour.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
- Shifts : Monday Friday; 6:00 AM 2:30 PM Overtime. Incumbent must be flexible in their availabilities according to the operational need.
