Job Description

Position Overview:

The role requires an experienced midstream natural gas professional who can skillfully lead and participate in the entire business development process including demandpull natural gas project origination market research and analysis project development customer proposal creation pipeline interconnect agreement development and negotiation economics acquisition due diligence long term planning support and contract management system advancement. This position will be joining a high performing and entrepreneurial business development team currently consisting of 4 Vice Presidents of Business Development and a Chief Commercial Officer who in turn works interactively with high performing and active finance operations engineering project management strategic sourcing and HSSE teams within Infrastructure group.

Candidate will endeavor to identify potential avenues for new business opportunities with prospective demandpull natural gas customers through extensive market analysis research existing relationships and relationship building. Candidate will also coordinate key work products with internal stakeholders on new project development.

Experience as a business development professional working for a natural gas midstream pipeline operator is required. Ideally the candidate will have existing active contacts on the demandpull side of intrastate and/or interstate natural gas pipelines including power generators data center developers LDCs LNG operators and industrials.

Musthave qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration Marketing Accounting Finance Economics Engineering or related field is required
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years directly related business development or commercial experience in the natural gas midstream industry
  • Strong desire to develop and advance a career in the business development and/or commercial acumen

Desired qualifications

  • MBA desired but not required
  • Experience developing and negotiating pipeline interconnect agreements
  • Creatively and aggressively seek new customer deals demonstrating a high level of knowhow in prospecting and lead generation
  • Relationships with commercial contacts amongst data center developers power generators LDCs LNG developers and/or industrials
  • Midstream project economic modeling and analysis experience
  • Proven track record of developing new natural gas projects and ability to work cross functionally with Operations Engineering Project Management Cost Estimating Land Regulatory Legal and Financial professionals to lead new development opportunities
  • Experience with annual planning processes and longterm planning processes
  • Finance experience and/or technical role experience within a midstream pipeline operating company
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Internal motivation and a strong desire to learn and succeed
  • Strong people skills and the ability to work well with a wide variety of people styles
  • Ability to work in a dynamic entrepreneurial and skilled organization
