Job Description
What you will be doing:
- Managing the vehicle maintenance program to ensure the availability of sufficient vehicles to meet the demands of resort operations.
- Scheduling preventive maintenance of vehicles to minimize vehicle life cycle costs
- Reviewing work required and prioritizing projects as appropriate.
- Ensuring that all Fairmont Southampton / Turtle Hill Golf Club vehicles remain in safe and reliable operating condition.
- Maintaining records of work and type of work carried out on the vehicles. Identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements.
- Carrying out repairs and supervise regular cleaning of the buses as required.
- Carrying out repairs and cleaning of the golf maintenance vehicles and golf carts as required
- Preparing and maintaining records of cost and repair history on all Fairmont Southampton vehicles.
- Assisting in ensuring that an appropriate inventory of spare parts is available.
- Answering and responding to on call after hours emergency requests.
- Weekend and Public Holiday coverage as required.
- Supervising and assisting Contract Employees
- Carry out any other duties as requested by Management from time to time.
- Maintenance adjustment and repair of rotary and reel type mowing equipment.
- Repair and maintenance of hand equipment such as line trimmers blowers chain saws and lawn mowers.
- Ability to maintain a tidy and safe work area.
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Must possess a mechanics certificate with at least 5 years hands on experience as a mechanic.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with computerized engine control systems.
- Strong leadership and organization skills.
- Knowledge of diesel engines and golf carts (gas and electric) is essential.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
- Sound mechanical and electrical knowledge of buses medium sized trucks golf course equipment lawn mowers and golf carts is necessary.

Schedules: Irregular hours including nights weekends and public holidays and 24 hours on call apply to this position
