Job Description

Job Title: Associate Software Engineer

Walter Everett Recruitment is working with a leading technology company looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role you will be contributing to the technical implementation of systems in the BSS/OSS space with a focus on improving the functionality security and maintainability of these systems. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a collaborative agile environment while growing as part of a supportive team.

Main Purpose of Role:
As an Associate Software Engineer you will contribute to the technical implementation of various systems in the BSS/OSS space ensuring that systems meet essential requirements such as capacity security and maintainability. Your responsibilities will include coding code reviews and assisting with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines all within an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Code implementation to ensure functional and secure systems.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality across the team.
  • Assist with automated testing to ensure systems are thoroughly validated.
  • Engage in CI/CD practices to improve the software delivery pipeline.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies to ensure smooth project delivery and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the implementation of various systems adhering to technical requirements and best practices.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Experience with Java (Java 8 or higher) and SQL.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Development knowledge of public cloud services ideally AWS.
  • Understanding of containerisation and Kubernetes.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities to diagnose and address software issues.
  • Ability to make informed decisions about prioritising tasks and contributing to team discussions.
  • Clear communication skills to collaborate with developers QA and other technical teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to participate in design discussions and collaborate with team members.
