Job Description
As a Parttime Social Media Specialist you ll play a crucial role in shaping the online narrative of this impactful charity during a period of explosive growth. This is an exceptional opportunity to blend your passion for social media with meaningful work that directly benefits young people. You ll be responsible for crafting and implementing engaging social media strategies that showcase the organization s basketball programs and career coaching initiatives. Your creative content will not only increase brand awareness but also inspire and connect with youth supporters and potential partners. Working independently you ll have the freedom to bring fresh ideas to the table edit compelling video content and drive community engagement across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative social media strategies that align with our mission and growth objectives
- Create edit and publish eyecatching video and image content that brings our basketball clubs and career coaching programs to life online
- Proactively generate creative campaign ideas that resonate with our young audience and showcase the impact of our work
- Manage and schedule regular posts across various social media platforms to maintain a consistent and engaging online presence
- Foster an active online community by responding to comments messages and engaging with our followers
- Utilize social media analytics tools to track performance identify trends and optimize our content strategy
- Collaborate remotely with our team to ensure social media efforts complement overall marketing goals and organizational initiatives
- Stay ahead of social media trends and platform updates implementing new features and best practices to keep our content fresh and relevant
Requirements
- Proven track record as a Social Media Specialist or in a similar role demonstrating a keen understanding of various social media platforms and their unique dynamics
- Exceptional skills in video and image editing with the ability to transform raw footage into compelling shareable content
- Proficiency in social media management tools particularly Hubspot and familiarity with social media analytics
- Strong creative thinking and problemsolving abilities with a talent for generating original content ideas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to adapt tone and style to suit our brand voice
- Selfmotivated and proactive work ethic capable of managing projects independently and meeting deadlines
- Passion for social impact and youth development with the ability to effectively communicate our mission through digital channels
- Flexibility to adapt strategies and content to support our rapid expansion from a smallscale operation to a multiclub organization
- Bonus: Experience working with nonprofits or in the sports/youth development sector
- Experience on Instagram/ FB/ LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Advantage but not required: Hubspot Wix and Donorbox
