Job Description
Job Title: Temporary Microsoft 365 Architect
Company: Mfinite Consulting
Location: Maryland State Department of Education (Not Remote)
Contract Duration: February 25 2025 February 24 2026
Hours: Up to 10 hours per week flexible schedule
Overview: Mfinite Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Microsoft 365 Architect to join our team temporarily to support the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing and optimizing Microsoft 365 environments and will be responsible for maintaining implementing and designing solutions for MSDEs M365 Tenant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the current state of MSDEs O365 and Microsoft cloud technologies.
- Recommend best practices and configurations for M365 to the MSDE CIO and Office of Information Technology.
- Collaborate with Microsoft resources to perform standard assessments.
- Work with MSDE OIT key stakeholders to ensure tenants are wellmanaged and compliant.
- Develop standards for the use of Office 365 tools and environments.
- Create architectural documentation in collaboration with the Director of Infrastructure.
- Educate and inform IT partners on platform usage and client solutions.
- Manage projects such as setting up Entra ID Connect Conditional Access automated reports and SharePoint Hub and Team Sites.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT with at least 5 years focused on O365 and related technologies at a senior level.
- Demonstrated expertise in M365 at an enterprise level SharePoint site creation and maintenance modern authentication techniques and automation solutions like Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience with Tenant Governance and compliance with standards such as CJIS and HIPAA.
- General knowledge of digital accessibility standards.
- Ability to report on the overall state and prioritize actions to align MSDE environments with agency needs.
Education and Experience:
- Proven track record of working with M365 and related technologies in a senior capacity.
- Strong background in IT governance and compliance standards.
