Job Overview:
Our client a reputable Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in Clayton NM is looking for a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join their team. This is a fulltime permanent position with a Monday to Friday schedule (no weekend rotation). As a PTA you will support the delivery of exceptional physical therapy care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to patients based on the treatment plan set by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT).
- Assist patients with exercises activities and modalities to improve mobility strength and overall physical function.
- Observe patient progress and communicate any changes in condition or response to treatment to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and families on exercises adaptive equipment and strategies for ongoing care at home.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records and document treatment progress in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.
- Adhere to patient safety protocols and regulatory guidelines during treatment sessions.
- Participate in continuous professional development and stay current with industry practices and trends.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Valid PTA license in the state of New Mexico.
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy treatment modalities and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with elderly patients especially those with chronic conditions.
- Excellent communication skills both with patients and the healthcare team.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Additional Details:
- Fulltime position with a Monday to Friday schedule (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM). No weekend rotation required.
