Job Overview:
Our client a reputable Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in Charleston WV is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their team. As an OT you will be responsible for assessing patients functional needs and developing individualized treatment plans to help them regain independence and improve their daily living skills. This is a fulltime permanent position in a supportive environment where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of patients physical mental and emotional capabilities to identify their functional needs and abilities.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to help patients improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) including dressing grooming bathing and cooking.
- Provide direct therapy services including therapeutic exercises adaptive equipment training and other interventions aimed at enhancing function and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve the best outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on techniques for improving daily living skills and using adaptive equipment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team including physical therapists nursing staff and physicians to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records documenting treatment plans progress and outcomes.
- Ensure a safe environment for therapy sessions and adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress and discuss necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid and current Occupational Therapist license in the state of West Virginia.
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or similar healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy treatment techniques including adaptive equipment manual therapy and therapeutic exercises.
- Ability to work effectively with elderly patients including those with chronic conditions or disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with patients families and the healthcare team.
- Compassionate and patientfocused approach to care.
