Job Title: Physical Therapist (PT)
Location: Newport News VA
Type: Direct Hire Permanent
Shift: Monday to Friday (Weekends as Needed)
Facility: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Job Overview:
Our client a respected Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in Newport News VA is looking for an experienced and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) to join their team. This is a fulltime permanent position with a Monday through Friday schedule with the potential for weekend shifts as needed. Additionally the PT may be required to float between different facilities or units as necessary. This is a great opportunity to provide highquality care to patients and help them improve their mobility independence and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on comprehensive assessment and evaluation.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to patients including exercises manual therapy and other modalities aimed at improving mobility and physical function.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on exercise regimens safety precautions and strategies for managing health conditions at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions treatment plans and progress in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including nursing staff physicians and other therapists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols during therapy sessions and ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care progress and any adjustments needed.
- Stay uptodate with the latest physical therapy techniques research and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Valid and current PT license in the state of Virginia.
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or similar healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy evaluation treatment and rehabilitation techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with elderly patients including those with chronic conditions and disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients families and healthcare teams.
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed and the ability to float between different units/facilities.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment and manage time effectively.
Additional Details:
- Fulltime permanent position with a Monday to Friday schedule with weekends required on occasion.
