Job Description
As a Data Scientist you will transform medical and pharmacy claims data into actionable insights within SaaS solutions. Using your expertise in SQL and quantitative analysis you ll develop scripts compute metrics and optimize data sets. Collaborate with product teams shape the roadmap refine specifications and drive innovation in healthcare analytics through curiosity and continuous learning.
Job Overview
Shift: Night Shift; Mon Fri 09:00 PM 06:00 AM (Weekends Off)
Work setup: Permanent Work From Home
- Develop SQL and Python scripts to support curated datasets in proprietary solutions.
- Analyze national medical and pharmacy claims datasets to build and refine data models.
- Convert and optimize legacy SAS code into Python for enhanced efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data sources calculations and methodologies.
- Collaborate with the Product team to define specifications scope projects and estimate timelines.
- Validate new and existing datasets to ensure accuracy and support QA/test strategies.
- Design and document measurement methodologies with Data Scientists and Product teams.
- Translate business concepts into actionable data deliverables for platform integration.
- Expand industry knowledge through independent research and professional development.
Requirements
The Qualifications We Seek
- Bachelor s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience preferably in healthcare or life sciences.
- Strong understanding of medical claims data (Medicare FFS Commercial Medicaid Medicare Advantage etc.).
- Experience working with medical coding systems (ICD10 CPT HCPCS MS DRG NPPES NPI etc.).
- Proficiency in data science technologies with the ability to understand and convert legacy SAS code.
- Advanced SQL programming skills including writing complex queries and reverse engineering scripts.
- Ability to work independently analyze data and develop programs for data aggregation and reporting.
- Strong critical thinking time management and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fastgrowing startup environment.
- Inquisitive selfmotivated and passionate about continuous learning.
- Familiarity with software development tools such as Jira Confluence and Bitbucket.
