Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


The Accountant will be responsible for processing all transactions related to General Ledger, Accounts Payables, Fixed Assets and Payroll. He will also be responsible for consolidating and preparing the financial reports for the entire organization.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Assists Ensures through his actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the NMC Hospitals and Clinics.

Maintains general ledger, including preparing journal entries, coding invoices, accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly & yearly, setting up new accounts.

Processes fixed assets transactions including acquisition, transfer, depreciation, disposal, verification.

Processes Payroll payments to employees.

Performs accounts payable duties including receiving invoices, match invoices, resolving issues, and entering the invoice into the AP system, as well as processing invoices for payment.

Analyses accounts, as required, and assists in period end and year end closings.

Prepares NMC’s financial statements.

Prepares the consolidated financial statements for the entire organization (NMC & Business Units).

Files all appropriate tax forms (ZAKAT) and reports with government agencies.

Assists external auditors at year end including preparation of schedules, invoices, and explaining supporting procedures.

Performs additional tasks and duties as assigned by Superiors.
Financial Record Keeping
Recording Transactions: Ensuring that all financial transactions (e.g., sales, purchases, payments, receipts) are accurately recorded in the appropriate accounting system or software.
Maintaining Ledgers: Keeping track of financial data by maintaining general ledgers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. This includes recording journal entries and reconciling accounts.
Classifying Transactions: Ensuring that all transactions are properly classified according to the appropriate accounting categories (e.g., assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, expenses).
Preparation of Financial Statements
Balance Sheets: Preparing balance sheets that summarize the company’s financial position, including assets, liabilities, and shareholder equity.
Income Statements (Profit and Loss Statements): Preparing income statements that show the company's financial performance over a specific period, including revenues, expenses, and profits or losses.
Cash Flow Statements: Creating cash flow statements that track the company’s cash inflows and outflows, ensuring that there is enough liquidity to meet obligations.
Other Financial Reports: Producing additional reports such as statements of retained earnings, statement of changes in equity, and other specialized financial reports required by management or stakeholders.


Desired candidate profile

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Professional certificate (i.e. CPA or CA) is preferable.

Must demonstrate the ability to handle all activities related to Accounting.

Ability to think logically and systematically.

Strong interpersonal skills such as communication, motivation, loyalty, and openness.

Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.

Knowledge of spreadsheet software.

Ability to communicate properly in oral and written form.

Proficiency in both English and Arabic Language.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Budget Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of budgets for various departments or projects within the organization, ensuring that spending aligns with financial goals.
Budget Monitoring: Monitoring actual spending against the budget and providing insights on variances. This includes analyzing discrepancies and helping departments adjust their spending as needed.
Forecasting: Helping forecast future financial performance, cash flows, and capital requirements based on historical data and market trends.
