SAFETY COMPANION NEEDED at SUNY Syracuse NY FullTime. $25 per hour
Company Overview:
Rite Konnection Staffing is seeking a compassionate and vigilant Safety Companion to join our healthcare clients team in Syracuse New York. This role is crucial for providing a safe and supportive environment for patients who require constant observation due to safety concerns ensuring their wellbeing and comfort during their stay.
Job Description:
As a Safety Companion you will play an essential role in our patient care team by closely monitoring and assisting patients who need continuous observation. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and security of atrisk patients including those with cognitive impairments mobility issues or those at risk for falls or selfharm. You will work under the guidance of nursing and medical staff to provide emotional support assist with basic needs and help maintain a safe environment for our patients.
Key Responsibilities: This list highlights primary duties but is not exhaustive.
Continuous Patient Monitoring: Maintain constant vigilance over assigned patients promptly reporting any changes in their condition or behavior to nursing staff.
Safety Measures Implementation: Assist in implementing safety measures to prevent falls selfharm or other injuries following all hospital protocols and guidelines.
Emotional Support and Reassurance: Provide emotional support companionship and reassurance to patients helping to alleviate anxiety and promote a positive hospital experience.
Assistance with Daily Activities: Help patients with basic nonmedical needs such as eating drinking and ambulating as directed by nursing staff.
Environment Safety: Ensure the patients environment is safe and free from hazards contributing to a secure and healing atmosphere.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in patient care or safety is a plus.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting or as a safety companion is preferred.
Excellent observational skills and a strong commitment to patient safety.
Compassionate patient and able to handle stressful situations with grace.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
