Radio Navigation Engineer 25003

Support to Navigation Projects (e.g. GALILEO LEOPNT Moonlight MarconiEGNOS GENESIS FutureNAV) and R&D activities in the fields of system signalreceivers and performance for Positioning Navigation and Timing (PNT). This includesdesign implementation and testing of systems signals and receiver techniquesderivation of system and user performances and techniques/algorithms at signal andpositioning level.
Contribute to the Agencys R&D strategy and research programs elaboration andimplementation among others in the following areas: future PNT systems andconcepts LEOPNT and Multilayer PNT 5G/6G and 5G/6G NTN positioningMoon/Mars PNT Deep Space Navigation Geolocation and RF Monitoring SpaceReceivers GNSSR andGNSSRO Precise Orbit Determination and receiver andsignal processing techniques for improved accuracy availability reliability andresilience.
Participation and active contributions to ESA activities supporting standardizationbodies and technical working groups addressing the aforementioned topics;
Design definition and follow up of industrial contracts related to the aforementionedtopics including for example R&D activities procurement of GNSS breadboards andreceivers for infrastructure or user technologies / test user segments;
Support design implementation maintenance and operation of Radio Navigationequipment complex Radio Navigation simulation tools and test facilities for testingfeatures (endtoend performances receivers etc.) in the aforementioned activities.

Qualifications :

Master in aerospace engineer or a relevant discipline;
Background and solid experience including handson experience on designimplementation and/or lab/field testing in several of the following fields:
Alternative PNT solutions and MultiLayer PNT systems and user
technologies;
LEOPNT systems signals and user technologies;
5G/6G and 5G/6G NTN systems and signals;
GNSS Reflectometry;
GNSS Radio Occultation;
Moon/Mars PNT Deep Space Navigation;
Navigation with Signals of Opportunity;
Space Receivers;
Precise Orbit Determination;
Geolocation and RF Monitoring systems and techniques;
Experience in one or more of the following fields is considered an asset:
5G/6G NTN Positioning;
GNSS/Galileo systems signals and associated receiver technologies;
Advanced signal processing and estimation techniques;
Telecommunication and Navigation Payloads;
Satellite telecommunication systems signals and associated receiver technologies;
Earth observation systems and techniques;
Signalinspace design;
Eligibility to obtain an EU personal security clearance from the relevant nationalauthority;
Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is anadvantage.
