Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team for a highimpact assignment in the banking industry supporting Group Financial Crime Prevention (GFCP). This role involves managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases ensuring high availability security and operational efficiency in collaboration with crossfunctional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management: Install configure and maintain PostgreSQL on Linux/Windows; handle upgrades and migrations.
Performance Tuning: Monitor and resolve bottlenecks; optimize queries and schema design.
Backup & Recovery: Manage strategies ensure RPO/RTO compliance.
Security Management: Implement and audit security conduct vulnerability assessments.
Automation: Create scripts for automation using Bash Python or equivalent; integrate CI/CD.
Operational Support: Proactive monitoring troubleshooting and documenting best practices.
Collaboration: Support development DevOps and infrastructure teams.
Requirements:
- Experience:
- 7 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in production environments.
- Proven expertise in managing largescale PostgreSQL environments with replication clustering and partitioning.
- Technical Skills:
- Indepth understanding of PostgreSQL architecture extensions and tools.
- Expertise in SQL query optimization and debugging.
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems shell scripting and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with tools like Grafana and pgAdmin.
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in English (proficient level).
- Certifications (Preferred):
- PostgreSQL CE or equivalent certifications.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Advanced understanding of database performance tuning security best practices and operational processes.
- Handson experience with automation tools and CI/CD integration for database management.
