Role
Portfolio management is a crucial responsibility at Flexcity as Portfolio Managers constantly valorise the current portfolio of energy producing and consuming assets on the different markets as well as keep an important relationship with our customers. The responsibilities of the Portfolio Manager include:
Operations and daytoday energy optimisation 40%
Managing the daily and yearly flexibility bids: determining the available capacity in the portfolio and the corresponding bidding strategy based on market information and technical constraints of our asset portfolio
Optimising and executing the bidding strategy with our internal pricing and bidding
Processing the bidding results and operationally configure the portfolio accordingly for service delivery
Monitoring the delivery with proactive risk management
Onboarding new assets smoothly in collaboration with the sales & delivery team
Development of customised solutions 40%
Continuously improve our current operations including upselling diversification and improving our current technical solutions (decision algorithms forecasts databases etc.) towards different assets and different grid services
In coordination with the research and development team contributing to the technical evolution of our tools and processes
Providing flexibility valuation studies for tailored offers to asset owners
Operational performance reporting and administration 20%
Reporting and communicating operational results to our customers and partners
Managing financial settlements between the network operator asset owners and energy suppliers
Monitoring regulatory changes: participation in workshops and working groups of the network operator
Qualifications :
Key Qualifications
Hard Skills
Fluent in English with other languages considered as a plus: Dutch and/or French
Mandatory knowledge in the Google Cloud Platform and Python environment
Solid foundation in the energy sector preferably electricity markets ideally well versed in Ancillary Services
Familiar with the network balancing services and the regulation of the electricity sector in Belgium (knowledge in other EU countries will be taken into account as well)
Project management experience
Soft Skills
Passionate about the energy sector (in electricity) and its current transformations
Team spirit you collaborate easily with your team and other Flexcity departments
Rigour and strong analytical skills
An intrapreneurial & volunteer mindset and are not afraid to take on responsibilities in a proactive way
A positive pragmatic and professional attitude
Comfortable in a fast changing work environment you can easily adapt think outside the box and you like to share knowledge
