Job Description

Are you a Residential Construction Project Manager looking for a new challenge with a multi-award-winning construction company?

Hatched Talent Solutions is partnering with a multi-award-winning, family-run construction company based in Bristol. Established in 2010, the team specialises in high-quality refurbishments, renovations, and extensions.

They provide a broad range of services, including bespoke carpentry, structural alterations, and new builds, catering to both commercial and high-end residential sectors. Renowned for their attention to detail and craftsmanship, the team delivers tailored solutions that balance client needs, design preferences, and budgets, ensuring quality projects are completed on time and to the highest standards

Due to impressive growth and increased project demands, we're looking to speak with a Residential Construction Project Manager to join the team, permanently.

Objective

To achieve company productivity goals through the successful delivery of projects in full, on time and in spec, in line with target cost plans and quality standards to complete customer satisfaction.

Job Overview

  • Evaluating and ensuring that all project targets are met.
  • Surveys new projects to meet potential clients to ascertain their project requirements for pricing.
  • Successfully manages a project from concept to project closure.
  • Able to capture the clients' requirements, create a scope of works to reflect the needs of the customer.
  • Communicates the customers' needs to the estimator and architectural technician for costings and design.
  • Managing the design and estimating work to get the best out of them and ensure no operational loss or hold ups.
  • Ensuring that a project plan is created including a project cost plan, programme and resource plan.
  • Liaises effectively with the Operations Manager & sales team in order to provide the correct information to the delivery team.
  • Responsible for planning the appropriate resources for all projects and providing the site teams with correct resources in line with the project program.
  • Able to provide proactive solutions for any issues that they feel may arise on all jobs.
  • Ensures that projects work to time and are consistently at JAS quality standards.
  • Recruits for members of the team in line with succession planning.
  • Sources bona fide sub-contractors and specialists to support the project delivery function.
  • Carry's out project closure and captures performance information and lessons learned.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Continuously suggests and implements improved and new systems for the benefit of the business.
  • Accountable for the successful performance and the results against target/budget.
  • Has high interaction with customer to ensure that the specification is correct and the pricing is right.
  • Constantly reviews the project requirements, changes and costings and reviews this with the client.
  • Creates project valuations for the accounts team to invoice.
  • Responsible for reviewing the performance of their direct reports through monthly 121's and appraisals.
  • Plans and implements work schedules in conjunction with the sales team.
  • Responsible project management from Concept, Project initiation, Moblisation/prestart, Project execution, Exception, Closure and Review.
  • Responsible for the adherence to Health and Safety on site
  • Responsible for monthly invoicing for ongoing projects
  • Responsible for preparing monthly financial reports for the Operations Manager
  • Responsible for escalating project progress reports and issues that have arisen to the Operations Manager
  • Reliable and available problem solver for management
  • Responsible for the financial management of sub-contractors
  • Has the ability to make quick, concise and correct decision independently
  • Has valued input into the strategic growth plans for the business

  • 0% error rate on any Health and Safety issue.
  • Responsible for the sufficient and correct resource for each job.
  • Seamless transfer of communication between all departments (calls = 2 hours, emails = 24 hours response)
