Job Description
DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote (UK Business Hours)
Job Type: Freelance / Contract
Work Commitment: Up to 4 days per week (2432 hours per week) Role is frontloaded and will drop down to 12 days per week.
Duration: March to Sept (Possibility of renewal)
Rate:Up to 200GBP per daybased on experience
Languages: Fluency in English both verbally & in writing is mandatory
About the Role
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to help build and maintain cloud infrastructure and processes for a wellfunded greenfield SaaS project expected to be a multiyear endeavour from MVP to featurecomplete.
You will collaborate with technical & delivery leadership to plan and implement technical direction focussing on developer operations. You will empower the small closeknit team as it designs & implements endtoend a rich SPA web client complex backing services & APIs and all the plumbing to bring a product to life. As the team tackles topics like:
- Realtime messaging & notifications and CMS/DAMs/DBs featuresets & services
- Third party data data science & lake workflows & platform integrations
- Single multitenant and xtenant standards compliant solution design & delivery
- Youll be both supported & afforded a lot of autonomy to define & ensure devOps excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design implement & maintain auditable CI/CD pipelines in code to enable seamless deployments to environments.
- Help design & manage environments and troubleshoot infrastructure & deployment issues in a systematic reproducible & auditable manner to ensure compliance and proper functioning.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends & technological advancements so you can bring your informed opinion & insights to bear to ensure a high quality outcome that all can enjoy implementing and be proud of.
Requirements
- 4 years of experience in DevOps cloud or site reliability engineering working with others collaboratively.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash Python or Go) for devOps purposes and familiarity with Typescript or a desire to learn it.
Expertise in:
- Big 3 cloud platform services & solutions particularly AWS (such as Aurora / RDS DynamoDB Lambda S3 CloudWatch ECS / EKS Cognito CloudFront VPCs and so on)
- Modern DevOps principles & practices (such as DevSecOps & gitOps true CI/CD with container orchestration IaC SAST & PaC) and technologies (such as Pulumi Terraform/CDKTF Docker & Kubernetes Github Actions or similar).
- Identifying and applying infrastructure best practices relating to security availability & cost optimisation concerns (such as OWASP top 10 GDPR PII & ISO27001 highavailability & fault tolerance scaling & orchestration).
