The Manager of Operations leads and manages a team of logistics professionals in the daily operations of the customers logistics operations within logistics customer service compliance transportation and other supporting functions. Responsibilities include coordinating with the key customer and crossfunctional teams to ensure the efficient flow of order processing document creation and track and trace activities as well as developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage resources and KPIs across multiples shifts
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the site including managing staffing setting goals and ensuring strategic goals are met
- Manage customer expectations regarding daily operations and resolve regional escalations
- Identify and recommend value add operational improvements and cost savings opportunities
- Oversee all regional projects and implementations ensuring quality and provide status reports
- Build Manage and maintain a productivity model to understand and record current workload and team capacity to ensure resources are allocated efficiently to achieve desired outcome
- Maintain and optimize regional standard operating procedures to ensure quality and efficiency
- Streamline processes and operational workflows between departments to minimize waste and maximize value to customer
- Develop and align team to meet KPIs and OKRs as agreed to with the client
- Develop teams with the necessary training knowledge and processes to perform consistently in their role
- Oversee teams performance ensuring the team hits all required metrics and customer service goals
- Develop operational continuity and risk management plans to ensure operations meet SLAs
- Develop workforce continuity and succession plans to foster a positive work environment and high morale
- Continuously develop your individual knowledge of logistics trends compliance and general business acumen to benefit the customer and your personal career development
- Enhance customer relationships by identifying areas for improvement in the overall customer experience
- Collaborate with other Managers of Operations to create global alignment on service delivery
- Other tasks as required
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree with a specialization in Supply Chain & Logistics related field or equivalent experience
- 7 years customer service compliance transportation logistics supply chain or related experience
- 5 years experience in daily operations management and people management
- 5 years experience in owning stakeholder management and facilitation
- 5 years experience in multiple shift management and facilities management
- Industry certifications such as Kaizen Lean Six Sigma Supply Chain PMP Licensed Customs Broker IATA/FIATA is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills including negotiation proven ability to listen comprehend effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Risk sensitive recognizes when problems arise or are likely to arise
- Critical thinking using logic data & qualitative reasoning
- Ability to develop evaluate recommend and present best options
- Ability to understand financials and develop budgets
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours including weekends and second shift
- Travel less than 10%.
