Job Description

Our organization connects passionate educators with rewarding opportunities in schools!

We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team and support students in a resource room setting. The ideal candidate will work with students who have a range of learning emotional physical and developmental disabilities.

Role at a Glance:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs ensuring alignment with state and federal guidelines.
  • Design and deliver ageappropriate differentiated instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and developmental levels.
  • Utilize evidencebased interventions to support language cognitive motor socialemotional and adaptive skill development.
  • Foster a structured nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and positive behavior.
  • Collaborate with speechlanguage pathologists occupational therapists physical therapists and other specialists to integrate related services into daily instruction.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and progress monitoring to track student growth and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and caregivers providing updates on student progress and offering strategies for continued learning at home.
  • Participate in IEP meetings professional development and team planning sessions to support best practices in early childhood special education.

Requirements

  • Experience working in an education setting.
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role.
  • A bachelors degree from an accredited university is required. A masters degree is a plus.
  • Have a Tennessee PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement (no other certification will be accepted at this time).
