Job Description
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs ensuring alignment with state and federal guidelines.
- Design and deliver ageappropriate differentiated instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and developmental levels.
- Utilize evidencebased interventions to support language cognitive motor socialemotional and adaptive skill development.
- Foster a structured nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and positive behavior.
- Collaborate with speechlanguage pathologists occupational therapists physical therapists and other specialists to integrate related services into daily instruction.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and progress monitoring to track student growth and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and caregivers providing updates on student progress and offering strategies for continued learning at home.
- Participate in IEP meetings professional development and team planning sessions to support best practices in early childhood special education.
Requirements
- Experience working in an education setting.
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role.
- A bachelors degree from an accredited university is required. A masters degree is a plus.
- Have a Tennessee PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement (no other certification will be accepted at this time).
