Job Description

Ray.BBDM is currently searching for a Field Construction Engineer for a client in the oil&gas sector an exploration and production (E&P) company involved in the acquisition development and production of oil and natural gas fields holding majority interests in three hydrocarbon licences in Gabon Brazil and Namibia and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange since 2020. This company is part of a large global Norwegian group specialising in maritime energy transport and floating gas infrastructure and has over 80 years of history.

This position involves working as either a Field Production Engineer or a Field Construction Engineer at a construction site or production facility within one of the companys 3 operating countries or construction yards. The role is rotational requiring adaptability and strong leadership capabilities. This role is open to candidates with less than 5 years of experience with a background in general engineering chemical engineering mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. A willingness to work onsite is essential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Optimization: Collaborating with the site manager to monitor and optimise processes using key performance indicators (KPIs) whether in production or construction.
  • Team Leadership: Leading and motivating a substantial team to achieve operational excellence while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and safety in production or construction activities.
  • Adaptability: Effectively working in diverse and challenging environments with the flexibility to rotate between various international locations.
  • Innovation: Contributing to projects that push industry standards and support the companys growth.


Main Requirements:

  • Educational Background: A degree from a recognised engineering institution specialising in oil and gas production construction or a related field Bachelor in Science or Masters in Engineering Supply Chain Procurement or other applicable education.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is mandatory. French language skills are a plus.
  • Adventurous Spirit: Willingness to embrace the challenges of working in remote locations and adapting to different cultural contexts.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Analytical Skills: An analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.


Interpersonal Skills:

  • Proactive and able to work independently applying a structured and systematic approach.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organisation.
  • Ability to deliver in a highpressure fastpaced project environment.
  • Ability to deliver highquality work on time.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary/multinational environment.


Additional Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of other relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Familiar with engineering & project management systems.
  • Familiar with shipyard and fabrication yard activities.
  • Familiar with Commissioning and Offshore operations.
  • Basic knowledge of project management.
