Job Description: The Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist will coordinate hospital efforts across Indiana to enhance National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) automated reporting and improve pediatric readiness in emergency departments. This role involves promoting best practices and quality improvement initiatives developing guidelines and offering support to hospitals for the automation transition and pediatric care standards. The Specialist will facilitate training assist with emergency department data reporting and collaborate with healthcare stakeholders to ensure hospitals meet national quality standards for pediatric emergency care. The position also includes working with hospitals to implement data feeds manage permissions and support the scaling of federal initiatives within the state. This role will involve instate travel and site visits for hospital assessments and continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate automated hospital reporting and pediatric readiness efforts within Indianas hospital network.
- Provide training and technical assistance to hospitals for NHSN reporting and pediatric emergency care improvements.
- Assist with emergency department data management including bed capacity and patient status.
- Lead quality improvement projects and work with hospitals to assess and improve pediatric emergency care.
- Develop and deliver educational resources training and progress reports for hospital stakeholders.
- Support hospital site visits and evaluate compliance with pediatric care standards.
- Facilitate statewide workgroups manage meetings and collaborate with federal and state partners on quality improvement initiatives.
Education & Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- 35 years of hospital experience with a focus on quality improvement.
- Certification in CPHQ or Lean Six Sigma preferred.
- Prior experience with hospital data reporting and quality initiatives particularly in emergency care.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret healthcare data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data management systems like REDCap.
- Experience in creating and delivering training materials and presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
Travel:
- 85% instate travel required; occasional outofstate travel.
