Job Description
- We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Medical Information Specialist (MIS) to join our team and support the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team.
- This role is essential for optimizing the effectiveness of the MSL team through literature management organization and the implementation of innovative solutions.
- The ideal candidate will be adept in literature searches technologydriven organization and will bring creative problemsolving skills to further enhance the MSL teams capabilities.
- Additionally the candidate should have a strong willingness to expand their responsibilities based on the evolving needs of the MSL team contributing to the teams growth and success.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Literature Search Support: Conduct comprehensive literature searches and analyses using Scopus Embase PubMed and other resources to provide evidencebased information to the MSL team and other internal teams. Synthesize the results of a literature search into clinically accurate and balanced summary based on the existing evidence.
- Research Tracking and Repository Support: Leverage EndNote to manage team literature repository and work in the organizational library. Manage smartsheet tracking for MSL team research projects engagement requests and metrics reporting dashboards.
- MSL Resource Support: Assist in various tasks to support the MSL engagements including planning and attending crosscollaborative meetings creating reports drafting and editing team presentations and other internal process documents.
- Utilize a foundational understanding of medicine and our products to evaluate and filter appropriate literature ensuring relevance for MSL projects and scientific inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelors degree in a scientific or relevant field is required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Information Specialist Medical Librarian or working in Medical Affairs Regulatory Affairs or Medical Communications is preferred but not required.
Skills:
- Advanced scientific literature search and evaluation skills.
- Strong writing skills to effectively communicate technical and clinical information.
- Knowledge of appropriate guidelines for medical writing including reference formatting and citations.
- Techsavvy with strong proficiency in the following tools: Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint EndNote and SmartSheet. A willingness to expand technical competencies as the role needs evolve.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Familiarity with clinical vocabulary and willingness to expand knowledge including products procedures and relevant scientific and medical literature.
- Comfort and capability in using advanced software programs and willingness to increase technological skills.
- Creative thinker who can contribute innovative solutions to improve efficiency and support the MSL teams operations.
