Job Description: MES Plant Services IT Support Senior Consultant
Location: Albany NY

The MES Plant Services IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting and maintaining Manufacturing Execution Systems within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. This position ensures the seamless operation of MES applications assists in troubleshooting technical issues and collaborates with crossfunctional teams to enhance system performance and user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead MES Plant Services Management:
Act as the lead for MES Plant Services overseeing daily operations coordinating tasks among team members and ensuring alignment with production goals.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within MES operations leveraging user feedback and performance data to enhance system functionality and user experience.
1.Technical Support:
oProvide firstlevel and secondlevel technical support for MES applications addressing user inquiries and issues promptly.
oTroubleshoot and resolve MESrelated software and hardware issues coordinating with vendors when necessary.
2.System Monitoring and Maintenance:
oMonitor system performance and availability ensuring that MES applications operate efficiently.
oPerform regular maintenance tasks including system updates backups and patch management in accordance with established protocols.
3.User Access Management:
oManage user accounts and permissions ensuring proper access levels are granted based on roles and responsibilities.
oConduct periodic reviews of user access and maintain security compliance in accordance with company policies.
4.Training and Documentation:
oAssist in the development and delivery of training programs for endusers on MES functionalities and troubleshooting techniques.
oCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation including user manuals technical specifications and troubleshooting guides.
5.Collaboration with IT and Operations:
oWork closely with IT infrastructure teams to ensure proper integration of MES with other enterprise systems (e.g. ERP LIMS).
oCollaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to gather requirements and feedback for system improvements.
6.Data Integrity and Reporting:
oEnsure data accuracy and integrity within the MES implementing data validation and governance practices.
oGenerate and analyze reports related to system performance production metrics and issue resolution trends.
7.Project Participation:
oSupport MESrelated projects including upgrades and system enhancements ensuring alignment with operational needs and timelines.
oParticipate in testing and validation processes to ensure new features and updates meet quality standards.
8.Regulatory Compliance:
oAssist in ensuring that MES operations comply with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
oSupport audit activities by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries related to MES operations.
Experience:
o10 years of experience in IT support specifically within MES or manufacturing environments in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
oFamiliarity with MES software solutions (e.g. Siemens Rockwell Schneider Electric) and integration with ERP systems.
Technical Skills:
oProficiency in troubleshooting software and hardware issues; experience with database management (e.g. SQL).
oKnowledge of networking principles and system administration.
Soft Skills:
oStrong analytical and problemsolving skills.
oExcellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to nontechnical users.
oStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
