Job Description
Join the Norig Group the backbone of ElbeFruit GmbH and Atlantic Fruit GmbH two leading fresh produce importers serving the European and UK markets. We are looking for a Finance Team Lead to provide financial leadership structure and operational oversight ensuring the stability and efficiency of our finance team.
In this role you will oversee financial reporting cash flow compliance and automation while also leading and developing the finance team. This is a handson leadership role offering the opportunity to build and improve financial processes in a dynamic and growing international business.
Tasks
Financial Leadership
- Ensure financial reporting accuracy and compliance with HGB and other relevant financial standards.
- Oversee monthly quarterly and annual accounting closures reducing errors and delays.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity ensuring financial stability.
- Develop a treasury strategy to manage foreign exchange risk and optimize banking relationships.
- Lead the transition of bookkeeping activities from external accountants allowing them to focus on regulatory filings.
Operational Oversight & Efficiency
- Align financial strategies with business goals ensuring close collaboration with sales operations and leadership.
- Implement automation tools for reporting invoicing and reconciliation to improve efficiency.
- Improve ERP and financial systems integration to streamline workflows and reduce manual work.
- Establish internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial integrity.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a finance team of 4 direct reports initially expanding as needed within 6 months.
- Define clear roles and responsibilities ensuring accountability and efficiency.
- Develop a structured training and onboarding plan for finance team members.
- Foster a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement.
Strategic Growth & Financial Planning
- Provide financial insights and reporting to support executive decisionmaking.
- Develop a scalable financial structure that supports business expansion while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Identify and implement costreduction initiatives to improve profitability.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience in finance and operations with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting (HGB) cash flow management and compliance.
- Masters degree in Finance Accounting or Business Administration; CPA or CFA preferred.
- Experience with ERP and financial systems (Bitrix24 Quickbooks Online or similar).
- Ability to lead and mentor remote and international teams.
- Fluency in English; German proficiency is a plus.
- Strong analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
