The Office of Asylum Seeker Operations (OASO) is leading New York Citys response to and service provision for the influx of asylum seekers. New York Citys response is unique throughout the nation and includes complex services for asylum seekers including but not limited to legal supports advocacy shelter education workforce training clothing and food donations and collaboration with faithbased and communitybased organizations.
The Office of Asylum Seeker Operations (OASO) coordinates between agencies makes sure that agencies have the resources they need and manages the Citys advocacy to the state and federal governments. The Office also leads strategic planning for the Citys response including longterm planning and policy drafting.
The Office of Asylum Seeker Operations (OASO) is recruiting for one (1) Community Coordinator to function as the Policy Advisor Siting Emergency Ops and Capacity who will:
Report to the Deputy Director of Siting and Capacity Planning the Policy Advisor Siting
Emergency Ops and Capacity for the emergency siting and sheltering operations portfolio.
Lead projects attends meetings develops scopes of work requests for proposals and other
solicitation documents.
Analyze business needs by creating and managing a strategic pipeline to meet departmental
goals.
Develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of
data and business processes.
Manage the strategic relationships with business units functional areas and suppliers to support
overall business needs.
Ensure adherence to protocols procedures and project plans are followed and completed timely.
Develop and manage best practices within the category/industry.
Create supplier KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) that monitors supplier performance.
Establish and maintain supplier relationships that creates long term partnerships.
Strategically negotiate contracts to reduce overall cost that is in the best interest of patients and
organization.
Create and manage the Indirect strategic calendar that includes expiration of contracts savings
opportunities and renewals.
Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities by developing enhancing
and maintaining project information and models.
Provide best in class customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Partner closely with all levels of organizational members.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
