The Litigation Services Unit responds to court ordered requests for agency records and witness for approximately 2000 Tort cases each year. The unit seeks a highly organized and motivated candidate with superior verbal communication and leadership skills to assume the position of Team Leader/Supervisor of records searchers and testifiers in the unit. The successful candidate will be required to mentor coach and train staff in conducting searches of the agencys electronic and paper records in compliance with the units standard operating procedure. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in creating updating editing and disseminating training material at the direction of and under the supervision of the Deputy Counsel. The selected candidate will assign and review appropriate matters to staff assess complex assignments and coordinate with the Deputy Counsel on steps required for compliance prepare reports from data derived from units Litigation Active Matters site and provide ongoing reporting and feedback to the Deputy Counsel on staff productivity the functioning of the units processes and other administrative and personnel matters. In addition to supervisory functions the Team Leader/supervisor is expected to also conduct records searches and testify at depositions and trials.
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience requiring independent decisionmaking concerning program management or planning allocation for resources and the scheduling and assignment of work 18 months of which must have been in an administrative managerial executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible experience as described in 1 above 18 months of which must have been in an administrative managerial executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
3. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of
satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible experience as described in 1
above 18 months of which must have been in an administrative managerial
executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the
supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than
moderate difficulty; or
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. However all
candidates must possess the 18 months of administrative managerial executive or supervisory experience as described in 1 2 or 3 above. Education above
the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative
experience (but not for the administrative managerial executive or supervisory
experience described in 1 2 or 3 above) at a rate of 30 semester credits
from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3
years.
