As an integral part of the UK&I Finance team the role partners with Finance and Commercial stakeholders across the UK&I division and Group function using bestinclass reporting to provide insight and support decision making. The role also collaborates with colleagues for the budgeting and reforecasting processes as well as being responsible for integrating new measurement frameworks for our Marketing and Cost of Sales activities.
The roles primary function is the reporting of Marketing and Cost of Sales activities in both Retail and Digital channels for the UK&I operation. This requires significant interaction with other Finance teams and the divisional Marketing teams to maintain an excellent grasp of current and future performance. In addition the role supports the Head of Reporting to produce highquality reportage and valueadding analysis helping to ensure the business is focused on the appropriate strategic decisions. The role provides independent challenge and insight to P&L owners whilst offering analytical support to the wider UK&I FP&A team. The role must have the capability to lead projects where an input from Finance is required.
Working with people
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective collaboration.
- Taking the lead on projects including what resources are required where this role is the subject matter expert.
- Utilising effective knowledge transfer techniques to extract useful information from sources to enhance reporting.
- Able to articulate issues and utilise influencing skills to propose solutions and present them to senior management.
Reporting
- Support Head of Reporting in creating a worldclass reporting function.
- Support the Head of Reporting & Analytics the FD and the ELT in making the right business decisions thus impacting strategy and communications to their wider teams.
- Work closely with the Group Financial Control team and Strategic Business Partner Lead to understand all aspects of Marketing operations and continually improve processes that support reporting outputs.
- Lead and manage the reporting for all Marketing and Cost of Sales activities liaising with stakeholders to understand variances and ensuring that stakeholders are provided with information that offers actionable insight.
- Track the financial implication of Cost of Sales contracts partnering with stakeholders to understand how profit performance is affected by rates and volumes.
- Understand the risk and opportunities for Cost of Sales and Marketing spend translating this into actionable insight.
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand affiliate profitability and recommend areas for improvement.
- Support regular reporting and analysis of financial and nonfinancial performance to provide insight covering areas such as product performance brand performance performance marketing and conversion analysis.
- Support with the analysis of competitor performance providing insight on cost of Sales where relevant.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gain agreement and support for reporting approaches in their respective areas. Be able to challenge and influence stakeholders to drive continuous improvements in quality of reporting and analysis.
- Work closely with Analytics teams to ensure development of Data SelfServe strategy fits business requirements.
- Consulting with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the entire reporting stack aligns with our overall aims.
- Provide technical guidance to others ensuring that all stakeholders speak with one voice.
- Provide financial support for business cases where they are the subject matter expert.
- Support the business in other adhoc reporting and analytical requests.
Planning
- Support the design and preparation of the Marketing and Cost of Sales budget models providing key inputs and trends during all aspects of the planning cycle. Provide indepth analysis to support comprehensive storytelling to gain stakeholder buyin.
- Develop budget models for more complex areas of Cost of Sales including banking and affiliates.
Team Management
- Whilst this role does not have any direct reports the role could be expected to deputise for the Head of Reporting when required.
- The role will also provide guidance for other members of the team ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.
- Work with the Head of Reporting to identify and embed novel ways of working providing solutions for maintaining a highperforming team
Qualifications :
Experience
- Experience in either a Senior FP&A or Management Accounts role for a large scale and complex business
- Experience of reporting and analysing marketing spend is highly preferable
- Experience of working with ERP platforms (i.e. Oracle Fusion SAP)
- Data expert who can turn numbers into a compelling business story
- Proven track record of delivering highprofile analytical and reporting projects that have directly led to improved business performance financial and volumetric
- Can demonstrate strong design and build concepts for reporting using visualisation techniques
- Can demonstrate strategic thinking prioritisation and problemsolving skills in challenging environments
- Articulate and can document concepts/processes
- Able to demonstrate a strategic outlook and a desire to proactively improve processes
- History of driving positive change in a fastpaced environment
Core technical skills
- Appropriate accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA etc) with significant PQE
- Advanced user of Excel
- Advanced user of cubebased reporting tools (i.e. SSAS TM1 PBCS)
Bonus technical skills (valued but not required)
- Experience of working with data visualization and/or analytical tools (i.e. PowerBI Tableau SPSS)
- Experience of writing SQL queries to extract data directly from tables
- Experience of working with forecast planning tools (i.e. Anaplan Pigment)
- Understanding of BI technical infrastructure
