Job Summary

PostgreSQL DBA who can provide production support to production & nonproduction databases for 24x7x365 days. Able to plan install path & upgrade various PostgreSQL database versions. Should have strong analytical and communication skills.

Years of experience needed 3 to 5 years.

Technical Skills:

1. Creates and maintains enterprise databases required for development testing and production usage.

2. Leads Installation of new versions of the PostgreSQL DB and other integrated tools that access the PostgreSQL database.

3. Undertaking Installation upgrades migrations and patch management of Database.

4. Plans and implements backup and recovery of the PostgreSQL database and other organizations databases.

5. Periodical health checkup of the databases and perform ongoing tuning of database Instances.

6. Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases applications and development tools.

7. Creation of database and application users and assign the appropriate roles and responsibility as per the organization s policy.

8. Good Exposure on PostgreSQL Database hands on experience in administration & management of different versions.

9. Good Exposure on back up/restoration policies and strategies hands on experience in taking backups/ scheduling and refresh/cloning etc.

10. Have exposure to Disaster Recovery / DR Drills.

11. Excellent communication Skills Written and Verbal

12. Ability to perform both database and Operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments for performance improvements

13. Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles assign privileges)

14. Setup and maintain documentation and standards

15. Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support in shifts

16. Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams

17. Ability to work effectively with team and share knowledge

18. Knowledge of Operating System(s) Windows/ Linux/ AIX along with Perl & Shell scripts.

19. Tool Knowledge JIRA Remedy ITSM

20. Capable of analyzing requirements and develop software as per project defined software process

21. Develop and peer review of LLD (Initiate/ participate in peer reviews)

22. Ability to execute test plans create test cases test data and contribute to appropriate software (including programming languages) development life cycle methodology and application of specialized business and technical knowledge.

23. Resolve technical issues of projects and Explore alternate designs

24. Effectively collaborates and communicates with the stakeholders and ensure client satisfaction

25. Train and coach members of project groups to ensure effective knowledge management activity.
