The Counsel/Analyst Internal Investigations is responsible for conducting internal investigations globally assisting with management of the Companys Global Ethics Helpline and ensuring that ethics and compliance concerns raised by employees suppliers and other third parties are promptly and thoroughly investigated and addressed. The Counsel/Analyst Internal Investigations reports to the APAC Director Internal Investigations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct internal ethics and compliance investigations globally primarily in APAC. Assume responsibility for all phases of the investigation cycle including intake investigation plans collect data/documents review and analysis witness interviews factual findings report writing and maintaining accurate records to properly document investigations.
- Advise the Company on internal investigations findings and provide input for disciplinary and remedial actions to be taken based on the findings.
- Help provide periodic updates to the Companys management team concerning ethics and compliance concerns and data and trends regarding compliance culture.
- Support quarterly reporting of Ethics and Compliance data to Board of Directors Audit Committee company leadership and business units.
- Assist with training and communication initiatives related to Western Digitals Speak Up culture and nonretaliation policy including quarterly allemployee communications annual online compliance training and postinvestigation leadership communications as needed.
- Analyze ethics and compliance investigations data (including root causes) to determine relevant trends and areas of compliance risk and recommend effective modes of training communication and controls enhancements to address same.
- Assist with preparation and escalation of root cause reports and remediation plans to ensure crossfunctional followthrough on remediation recommendations for preventing future misconduct or other issues.
- Address reports filed in the Companys Ethics Helpline and partner with People Solutions and other investigative functions across the Company to ensure timely responses to all concerns raised on the Ethics Helpline and other reporting channels.
- Help conduct periodic Ethics Helpline testing and nonretaliation monitoring including determining appropriate action to address findings and reporting to Lead Investigations Counsel.
Qualifications :
REQUIRED:
- Qualified or licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdiction CFE or background in investigative audit is highly desirable.
- Undergraduate degree in law accounting finance or relevant field with a strong academic record.
- Minimum of 56 years professional experience with compliance investigations. Specifically ethics and compliance matters fraud investigations procurement improprieties internal or external investigative audit and related experience.
- Experience conducting and managing document reviews and electronic discovery creating and following investigations plans conducting witness interviews and preparing investigation reports.
- A keen eye for detail excellent organizational and analytical skills and a demonstrated record of crossfunctional collaboration and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Integrity professionalism and a keen understanding of the sensitivity and confidentiality of the work is a must.
- Professional presence excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills and experience delivering crisp clear executive presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and manage multiple projects simultaneously and focus on critical priorities.
- Strong work ethic and ability to produce high quality work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a global environment and sensitivity to and an understanding of cultural differences around the globe.
- Excellent English both oral and written.
- Infrequent and unpredictable travel may be required.
PREFERRED:
- Fluency in a second language (Mandarin or Thai).
